17 January 2022 OBD Software: Work continues on the next WOTR EXPANSION! After a brief break, we are back working on the next Add-on to WOTR. The rivers, and of course the associated maps, have been developed further since last time and now the campaign engine is being improved as we speak with new excellent features. Work also continues on one of the other new aircraft. It may be a little while before we can talk about things in more detail, but we hope it will be worth the wait. Please enjoy the images.

9 April 2022 OBD Software: Work continues on the next WOTR EXPANSION! WOTR Expansion development continues. Although we aren’t ready to go into details, more aircraft are under construction, and we have completed the fantastic and unique campaign features - which in testing, provide very interesting and realistic outcomes in the campaign. WOTR Expansion is panning out well so far.

Today we’d like to update you with some new items and details for the recently announced BATTLE OF FRANCE Expansion coming soon to WINGS OVER THE REICH! We will be adding two new Aircraft to the previously released list. Namely, the French Bloch MB.152 C.1, and the Morane M.S. 406 C.1. Dunkirk has been updated with new features, so you can now be involved in the epic evacuation of British and French troops from Dunkirk in 1940. Defend against the German raids from the ground and air! Ships will be around Dunkirk and boats ferrying the troops back and forth so you will need to protect them as an allied pilot. Also now some Spitfire squadrons, together with the already operational Blenheim Squadrons in Britain, will come across the channel to aid the troops! All ground vehicles have now been completed, and new code added to allow formations of separate formations and columns of French and British ground unit vehicles. The French voice acting for Radio Comms is now also complete. Work continues on the aircraft and the features of Dunkirk as well as the Campaign.

5 December 2022 WOTR Update to V1.25 is now available! Two issues have been fixed, one that affected Screen Res Modes on Nvidia 4090 GPUs, and the other affected users with the latest VKBsim Gladiator EVO and NXT Joysticks - fixed in WOTRKeys V2.2 (key and controller binding program). Please see the WOTR Downloads page for full info and to get the update! This for the base simulator Wings Over The Reich - not needed if you have WOTR Expansion installed. Remember this includes all previous updates including V1.19 massive FREE update with new BOB features, and the stunning flyable SPITFIRE MK.Ia!

6 December 2022 - Development Update.

Welcome to the latest BATTLE OF FRANCE Expansion Dev update! We are now nearing the end of the development process, and have been testing all the new features and aircraft. Things are going very well so far, and several exciting additions were added recently, or further refined and tweaked. The scenery has been revised including items such as new airfields, and these are complete. One area we have been working to refine is the 'BoF' campaign system and we have recently completed the final work on the campaign features. For the newly designed dynamic campaign, we have added more features - specially to cope with the exciting, rapid German advances in the Battle of France and the co-ordination of friendly forces - more below.

One great feature of the new campaign, that has been honed further, is the ability to fly from a selection of Spitfire squadrons based in England and help defend Dunkirk and the surrounding area from German attacks, with of course Blenheims sometimes assisting the retreat of the British forces from France. We have also been working on some exciting A.I. improvements, along the lines of those excellent improvements we did for our WWI sim, WOFF, but of course geared for WW2. As one of the final changes we believe this is really worth the work involved and will bring more single player enjoyment. As we mentioned the new Dunkirk area has been finalised, with its unique harbour layout and famous landmarks such as the Mole and the lighthouse. As mentioned you will see ships in and around Dunkrik, and small boats trying to get to and from shore. We have some new images for you this time above, and below.

Another exciting addition is the BF109 E-3 aircraft we decided to add as a flyable aircraft for those who enjoy a German pilot career, or of course as a target for Allied pilots! All the new aircraft have been completed, including the latest editions - the French Bloch MB.152 C.1, and the Morane M.S. 406 C.1 (both A.I. only at this time). So hopefully not too long to go until we can get this into your hands, however, we will take a short well-needed break over the Christmas Holidays, and then back to Beta testing. So if we don’t post before then, for those that celebrate, have a great Christmas! For everyone, best wishes for you and yours.

19 February 2024 A new update has been released for the WOTR Expansion Battle of France. This update brings BoF up to version 1.04! This update has several fixes, some are important to the action in the sim, so well worth updating for a more exciting experience! 22 January 2025 A new update has been released for the WOTR Expansion Battle of France. This update brings BoF up to version 1.17! 27 March 2025 V1.21 is available for WOTR Expansion Battle of France. This fixes an issue with the BF109 E3 and E4 aircraft, that could cause self-damage in certain circumstances. 21 March 2025 Hot on the heels of the last update, we have made V1.20 available for WOTR Expansion ‘Battle of France’ This includes an important fix for an issue with airfields when using a map. This of course includes the recent new fixes and improvements from previous patches, including the free feature improvement of new animated Grass / Weeds at airfields.
